Locker Group Expands Warrington Facility & Adds A Screen Re-meshing Service
New investment at Farrell Street creates a dedicated screen re-meshing work cell and increases Locker Group’s manufacturing footprint
Locker Group has expanded its Warrington operations following the acquisition of an adjacent industrial unit at its Farrell Street facility.
The additional space has increased the Farrell Street facility by approximately 50%, providing additional capacity to support the continued development of Locker’s manufacturing and engineering services.
A key part of the expansion is the creation of a dedicated work cell for industrial screen re-meshing, strengthening Locker’s ability to refurbish existing screening equipment and provide customers with an alternative to purchasing complete replacement screens.
The investment builds on Locker Group’s long association with Warrington. The company was originally established in the town in 1878 and has been supplying and manufacturing woven wire mesh and wire cloth for more than 140 years.
Giving industrial screens a new lease of life
Screening equipment operates in demanding environments, and over time the woven mesh can become worn, damaged or no longer suitable for the required process.
In many cases, however, the underlying screen frame remains serviceable.
Locker’s screen re-meshing and bonding service allows suitable existing frames to be assessed and fitted with new woven wire mesh rather than replacing the complete screen assembly.
This approach can reduces cost, material waste and lead time compared with purchasing a new OEM screen.
The new dedicated work cell at Farrell Street provides a focused area for this growing service and complements our existing wire mesh manufacturing, technical and fabrication capabilities.
